Top Ten Guide to Holiday Gift-Giving

As we approach the final quarter of 2021, the following tips will help you get prepared for fall, gift-giving, and celebrating those people who are so vital to us.

  1.   Think about this past year and those who meant so much to you personally and professionally.

  2. Make a list of those people who supported you and evaluate your plan as to whether these people are Clients, Referrers, Employees/Staff, Vendors, Colleagues, Strategic Partners, or Peers.

  3.  Separate your list into two categories; holiday cards only and holiday cards with gifts. At the very minimum, send them a holiday card.

  4. Think about your budget and the message you want to convey.

  5.  Remember, you often have to take the lead on this. Though you can delegate some of these tasks, your input is so important. It is a very personal process, which means it involves your participation and decision-making.

  6.  Timing is everything. Do not wait until mid-December to start this process.

  7.  Make sure your gifts arrive in time for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas. Many people wait until the 2nd week of December to start writing holiday cards and gift-giving. By then, it is too late!

  8. Shoot for the 2nd week of November to write holiday cards and mail them right after Thanksgiving. Consider sending gifts early this year before Thanksgiving. Adhering to this deadline will reduce your stress and anxiety and allow you to enjoy the holidays. If this timeline doesn't work, shoot for sending gifts by the first week in December, usually by the 5th.

  9. Visit Our Gift Biz' website. Select the perfect gift or call for a custom design. Tell us something about you (the gift-giver) and the receiver. We will incorporate what we learned to develop a personalized gift that creates a memorable, meaningful, and lasting experience. We are the experts at gift- giving and do it every day for our clients.
