The Ultimate Holiday Gift-Giving Guide

As fall approaches, we are reminded that the holiday season is almost here, and with it comes the challenge of buying the perfect gift for your clients or loved ones. It is about more than just exchanging presents; it's an opportunity to show how much we value and appreciate them. Thoughtful gift-giving allows us to deepen our connections and create lasting memories with those we care about the most. When we put thought into choosing the perfect gift, we demonstrate that we know and understand the person's interests and value their individuality. Gifts have the power to make someone feel seen, heard, and loved. Shopping for gifts can be stressful and overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be!

Here are some tips and tricks on simplifying your holiday gift-shopping experience. From creating a budget to finding unique and creative gifts, we've got you covered.

Think about this past year and those who meant so much to you personally and professionally.

  1. Make a list of all those who supported you and evaluate your plan as to whether these people are Clients, Referrers, Employees/Staff, Vendors, Colleagues, Strategic Partners, Peers, or Loved Ones.

  2. Separate your list into two categories: holiday cards only and holiday cards with gifts. At the very minimum, send them a holiday card.

  3. Think about your budget and the message you want to convey.

  4. Remember, you often must take the lead on this. Though you can delegate some of these tasks, your input is critical. It is a very personal process, which means it involves your participation and decision-making.

  5. Timing is everything. Be sure to start this process now.

  6. Ensure your gifts arrive in time for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas. Many people wait until the 2nd week of December to start writing holiday cards and gift-giving. By then, it is too late!

  7. Shoot for the 2nd week of November to write holiday cards and mail them right after Thanksgiving. Consider sending gifts early this year before Thanksgiving. Adhering to this deadline will reduce your stress and anxiety and allow you to enjoy the holidays. If this timeline doesn't work, shoot for sending gifts by the first week in December, usually by the 5th.

  8. Visit the Our Gift Biz website. Select the perfect gift or call for a custom design. Tell us something about you (the gift-giver) and the receiver.
