WOW…Last week we celebrated the 4^th of July and this week we celebrate one of my favorite activities, The Fancy Food Show. Usually this occurs in New York, Chicago and San Francisco, but this year the Nation’s premier Specialty Food and Beverage Marketplace is in DC.

Let me explain…

180,000 specialty food and beverage vendors and 2400 exhibitors from 80 countries around the world converge under one roof to show us, the 25,000 buyers what is new, award-winning, and special about their products. It is like the world’s fair - full of fun and energy and excitement. The most incredible products from all over the world are on display with tastings of each offered throughout the day.

This is how I make buying decisions for Our Gift Biz. Attending these shows allows me to meet the owners of the companies and creators of these products and learn about them. I enjoy finding out why they started their businesses, the ingredients they use, and what makes them different. The number of products is astounding! The number of vendors to meet can be overwhelming! However, the bottom line is that we know first-hand about the food lines we carry. By learning about the vendors and their stories, we are confident that we are offering our clients and customers premier product lines. This ensures our gifts and baskets truly are first class.
